One of the first questions people need to answer when considering a door is whether the door opens right-hand or left-hand. Many doors need to be pre-ordered and choosing the wrong hand can be a real disaster.

The secret trick is called the butt to butt method.
Simply imagine standing with your butt against the "butt" hinges. When you open the door, is the door now on your left side? This is a left hand door. If the door is on your right side, this is a right hand door.
